Elk Hunt

This weekend our family had some much needed family time together. Jon and I decided to take the whole family on the elk hunt. We pulled our trailer up to the cabin to stay for a few days. Josh killed his elk opening morning. In total our party harvested 5 elk opening morning. I was so excited for Josh that he was able to fill his tag and take down his first elk. I must also brag that the donkeys did fantastic packing the elk out.  With the hunt a success, it gave us the rest of the days to do some hiking, ride ATVs, spend time with cousins, and carve our names into trees. Olivia and her cousin Azia spent hours painting outside, not just rocks but their faces also. We got to spend lots of time with Jon's cousin Jason and his wife Sabrina and their kids. It was so good to visit with them, it had been too long. Jon's parents, brother, cousin Jason and the Mexicans (our affectionate term for a group of guys that have been coming to the cabin for years during the elk hunt. They work with Jon's brother Brandon) were also there. We spent some relaxing time around the fire laughing and telling stories. This weekend really charged our batteries as a family.
