Today I am so thankful to Dean and Betty (previous owners of our house) for planting the apple tree in the backyard so many years ago. My family and my two neighbors benefited from it's bounty with buckets of apples for each of us. I was able to make, several bags of dried apple chips and 25 bags of frozen apple pie filling, not to mention all the fresh apples we ate. I am extremely grateful to my mom who taught me how to preserve and put away food for my family. I have such a testimony of food storage and putting away today what you might need tomorrow, because of a kind and loving mother who showed me by example when I was young.
