Just Dance

What a great way to celebrate my birthday watching Lexi and Izzy dance in their Christmas recital.  Dance recitals are completely crazy but worth it when I see my girls on stage performing.  We arrived at the school 20 minutes early to find the parking lot completely packed.  Let me back up a little, both the girls take dance from my old dance teacher who has been teaching in Riverton for over 30 years.  In that time her studio has gone from just being a few classes in her basement to having a studio added onto her house and enough classes to have 3 separate Christmas recitals.  OK so back to the night of crazy, the parking lot was packed because the first show had not finished yet and the rest of us were arriving for the second show.  Jon decided to drop us off at the front door and then go look for a spot, but as luck would have it there happened to be one right in front.  After parking we entered South Hills Middle School to find that it was standing room only in the auditorium.  The girls and I stood at the back and watched several of the neighborhood girls dance while we waited for our turn.  Jon hates crowds so he stayed in the hall and chased Olivia around.  After what seemed like forever, it was finally Izzy's turn to dance.  Izzy decided to take Jazz and Ballet this year with her friend Brooklyn Brown.  She looked so grown up on stage dancing and did an amazing job.
Once Izzy was done it was another wait because Lexi was in the third show.  The third show is made up of all competition teams and this year Lexi is on the competition clogging team.  I am so proud of how hard Lexi has worked to be on this team.  Dancing does not come easy for Lexi because the moves tend to be difficult for her to perform with her legs and feet being turned in.  Lexi has taken on this physical challenge with such a good attitude.
Lexi and her team did awesome on their dance, they were together on all their moves and have come a long way in just the few short months they have been dancing together.
I am so proud of both my girls for their hard work and the how well they preformed tonight.
