Every year on Veteran's day the students at Wellsville Elementary put on a program for the Veterans in our community. Sam and Livy have been practicing for weeks the songs that they are going sing during the program. They were so excited to sing for their Dad. This morning Jon and I headed to the school to attend the program. It wasn't long before we saw Sam and Livy each walking in with their class. They were looking around everywhere until their eyes found us and that prompted them each to smile big grins. They always start with a flag ceremony and then they sing the song of each military branch. During each song the Veteran that served in that branch stands up. As they started to sing the Army song Jon stood up and Sam and Livy sang with large smiles. I really had to fight back the tears as they sang and Jon stood tall. I can't help but think about everything my children have sacrificed so that Jon can serve and everything he has given to fulfill his calling to serve. My favorite is the end when we all sing the National anthem together. Great way to spend Veterans Day!
