Cinco De Mayo Fun

Every year our family does a big Cinco De Mayo party.  We invite all of our friends and neighbors over to eat and we always have a pinata for the kids.  We have only lived her for a less than a year and we had such a great turn out.

While the adults finished eating the kids started a a fun game of tag.

It is always tradition that if the weather cooperates our party always ends a big water fight.  The girls were getting prepared early by filling up a large tub of water balloons.  Olivia's friend Moira was helping.

After eating it was then PINATA time.  We always line the kids up from youngest to oldest and give everyone three tries to break the pinata open.

Izzy got in a really good hit this year and cracked it open some.

Success, candy all over the ground for little fingers to pick up and put in their baggies.

Mattee, Izzy and Rylee made out with a bag full of candy each.

The older boys decided that the pinata wasn't for them so they had some fun of their own riding our donkey Poncho.  How ironic that they choose to ride a donkey while celebrating Cinco De Mayo.

It was then time for the water fight to begin.  Poor Lexi and several others had to learn the hard way, not to get Daddy wet because you will end up losing the battle.

I guess Mattee didn't see what happened to Lexi.

I guess no one learned the lesson, DON'T GET DADDY WET!

Even my best friend and neighbor Kim wasn't safe as Izzy sneaked up behind her and soaked her.

What a fun tradition and this year we made some great memories that we will cherish for years to come.
