Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!

Today was Livy's school field trip to the Zoo. We were up and out the door at 9 am, which is a huge accomplishment at our house. The entire drive to the Zoo, Livy berated me with a ton of questions such as how tall are giraffes, what does a money say and do elephants poop big poops? We were no longer through the entrance of the Zoo and Liv was off and running.  Every animal was as exciting as the next, for my sweet girl. Sam was a little more reserved until we hit the monkeys. He spent the rest of the afternoon pointing at each animal saying, " there it is". We then stopped for lunch with some of our preschool friends, before heading off to see the seals. It took lots of coaxing but they finally downed a few bites and off we went. The seals, otters, and polar bear were a real treat. The kids were able to get right up to the glass and watch the animals swim and play in the water.
We finished the day off with a ride on the carousel.  Olivia grinned and laughed each time she went up. Sam held on tight and refused to move anything but his eyes. He did have a grin from ear to ear.  It was then off to the car for the short drive home. The best part of today though, both kids were asleep in the car by the time I left the parking lot.
