Fourth of July weekend will go down in the books as one of the best ever. We decided to go our lot for the holiday and that turned out to be a great decision. We left home the day before on Wednesday. Thursday morning Jon and the kids fixed our swing set and then took a little time to go fishing. We then headed into Duschesne with Grandma and Grandpa Hamilton for the evening. We started by attending the parade. It was perfect. No putting chairs out weeks in advance and no large crowds. The kids had a blast catching candy. Olivia was just beside herself with excitement. We then headed over to the park to play. The local fire department had parked their trucks for the kids to see and climb on. Sam absolutely loves firetrucks! What could be even better than climbing on firetrucks? Doing it with your big brother. Sam couldn't ask for a better brother.
We then grabbed some dinner and then it was back to the park for a concert. I wish blogger would let you post videos because my little Sam and Olivia had so much fun dancing to the band. After an hour of dancing and eating brownies with our friends the Chugg's it was time to settle in for fireworks. No crowds and fighting for a spot on the grass, just a relaxing evening enjoying the fireworks.
On Friday morning we loaded up on the ATVs and with Grandparents in tow we road 40 miles up to Stawberry Peak. It took all day to get there and get home and we were completely exhausted and very dirty but extremely happy.
Saturday Morning we woke up to find the temperature rising quickly. Jon got creative and made a homemade water slide for the kids. I had brought water guns and with a tub full of water, it was water fight time. Both Jon and I ended up as wet as the kids. Redneck swimming at its finest, I guess. We headed home later that evening, as the song says, get ready for Sunday. Although we came home completely exhausted a great time was had by all.
